Services I Offer
Yes, I know that grant deadline snuck up on you. And those books need editing. Social media? Hornswoggling. Oh, and when was your CV last updated? Life gets crazy. There’s too many spinning plates. Too much stuff to learn and do well. Trust me, I know!
Whether you’re a professional artist getting tired of juggling everything all at once, or an arts administrator whose non-profit team is at (or beyond) capacity, or a burnt out creative looking for community-oriented, safe, and grassroots support, House of Fenrich can, and will help you!
Grant Writing
With several successful grants under my belt and jury experience, I can help you write that next killer grant. Because, honestly? Most people don’t even know where to start. Between artist statements and narratives, to letters of support and those dreaded budgets, the whole process is daunting. Start to finish.
This is a good fit if: you’re applying to SK/Canadian arts funding, a nonprofit program grant, or a community initiative and you want the application to sound like you—just sharper, clearer, and more fundable.
Social Media Support
With my diverse experience at various organizations (grassroots community groups, provincial arts orgs, and everything in between), I can help your social posts do what they need to do: be clear, be consistent, and actually catch your audience’s attention. (And it won’t sound like ChatGPT wrote it!)
This is a good fit if: you’re overwhelmed, inconsistent, and/or your posts just don’t sound right.
Media Narrative/PR
I worked for years as a newspaper journalist, and I know how important engaging the media is. Reporters have busy schedules and loaded inboxes, so how do you grab their attention? With some strategy, we can shape what you’re saying, why you’re saying it, and then it’s as easy as ‘Press Release!’
This is a good fit if: you need to announce something exciting, stop sounding vague, and/or need to elevate your profile.
Storytelling (Artist & Org.)
First and foremost, I’m a storyteller, ever since that first crappy story in Kindergarten! Thankfully, I’ve come a long way since those days, and whether you need a new biography, a new about page, or a new CV—I can tell your story.
This is a good fit if: you know who you are, but when you try to explain, you spiral.
Freelance Writing
From annual report stories, to essays, to speeches, to longform interviews, I can write it. Clean and persuasive. Tight and snappy. Experimental and Artistic. If you need copy that’ll catch people’s attention and hold it, that would be me! (Personal favourite, please pay me to write for you!)
This is a good fit if: you want writing that feels alive and holds up under scrutiny.
Public Speaking
Whether it’s workshops, talks, book readings, panels, and on, and on, and on—I’ve spoken on stages in front of thousands, or had intimate workshops with half a dozen people. Either way, you’ll get engaging conversations about strategy, grants, narrative craft, and/or building safer communications in arts/community spaces.
My public speaking rate is $300, flate rate (based on a 1.5 hour session with Q&A), though can be prorated.
Topics I can offer:
- Grant Writing Fundamentals (and common failure points)
- Truthtelling: Storytelling that is Rooted in Honesty, Community, and Safety
- Messaging Strategy for Artists and Non-profits + Media!
- Five Creative Tenets for the Emerging Artist
- Editing as Craft (how to revise without losing your voice)
- How to Decolonize Your Literary Practice
This is a good fit if: your group wants tools they can use the same day + you want to use this education for days/weeks/months/years.
My standard freelance rate is $100 an hour, though there is a sliding price scale available, dependent on need. In some circumstance, if capacity allows, mutual aid may also be accepted!
